LI batteries

Lithium batteries use lithium as the anode material. During discharge, the electric charge flows from the anode to the cathode, and during charging, the flow reverses from the cathode back to the anode. These batteries were first introduced in the 1980s and 1990s, and they have revolutionized the portable electronics industry. Devices like mobile phones, laptops, and other consumer electronics have significantly benefited from the high energy density and long life offered by lithium-based battery technology.

EV chargers

A solar EV charging system captures sunlight using photovoltaic panels and converts it into DC electricity, which is then used to charge electric vehicle batteries efficiently and sustainably.

The 4 Types Of Home EV Chargers

πŸ”Ή Plug-in EV Chargers (Level 1 – 1.4kW to 2.2kW)

Most electric vehicles include a basic Level 1 portable charger that plugs into a standard 10A household socket. These chargers typically operate between 1.7kW to 2.0kW, with a peak of 2.2kW.
Charging can take 20–36 hours for a full battery, depending on battery capacity and the starting charge level. On average, they can add approximately 10–14 km of driving range per hour β€” ideal for slow overnight charging or emergency use.

πŸ”Ή Single-Phase Home Chargers (Level 2 – 3.3kW to 7.4kW)

Level 2 chargers are available in wall-mounted and pedestal designs and are suitable for most homes.
Rated generally at 32A (7.4kW), these chargers can provide 40–50 km of range per hour. Considering that most people drive less than 50 km/day, daily recharging usually requires only 1–2 hours.
A complete EV recharge with these systems typically takes 8–10 hours.

πŸ”Ή Three-Phase Home Chargers (Level 2 – 9kW to 22kW)

Three-phase EV chargers look similar to single-phase units but can deliver up to three times more power, reaching 22kW output.
This fast charging capacity can supply 120–150 km of range per hour, making them ideal for large-battery EVs.
With these chargers, most vehicles can be fully recharged in around 3 hours.

πŸ”Ή Integrated Solar Inverter + EV Charger (Level 2 – 5kW to 7.4kW)

This advanced solution combines a solar inverter and EV charger into a single smart device, enabling vehicles to charge directly from solar power generation.
It eliminates the need for installing a separate charger or additional wiring β€” reducing cost and simplifying installation.
The only limitation is that the inverter must be positioned close to the parking or garage area.

How does a solar power system work?

A solar system captures sunlight through panels, converts it into electricity using an inverter, and powers your home or business. Excess power can be stored in batteries or sent back to the grid.

What are the benefits of installing solar panels?

Solar panels help reduce electricity bills, lower carbon emissions, provide energy independence, and increase property value.

How much will a solar installation cost me?

The cost depends on system size, location, and energy needs. However, government subsidies (like the Surya Gujarat Scheme) can reduce upfront costs significantly.

Do solar panels produce power on cloudy or rainy days?

Do solar panels produce power on cloudy or rainy days?

Is there any government subsidy?

Yes, through schemes such as MNRE and Surya Gujarat, residential and commercial consumers can receive subsidies to reduce the cost of solar.
